In this episode, Tanjiro’s peaceful life is shattered when he returns home to find that his family has been slaughtered by demons. The only survivor is his sister, Nezuko, who has been transformed into a demon. Despite her transformation, Nezuko shows signs of remaining human, particularly when she tries to protect Tanjiro. Determined to save her, Tanjiro sets out on a journey to find a cure. Along the way, he encounters Giyu Tomioka, a Demon Slayer who initially tries to kill Nezuko but ultimately decides to spare her after seeing her humanity. Tanjiro’s resolve to protect his sister and become a demon slayer is solidified.
